12 Aug 2013 DIESEL TOURING HIS NEW ALBUM - LET IT FLY

Mark Lizotte AKA Diesel, has long been renowned as not only a great blues-rock guitarist, but also an accomplished singer, songwriter and live performer, and while the man can certainly tear it up on guitar, he makes sure that the song always comes first.

Let It Fly - Diesels first studio album since 2008 - is a shining example, encompassing every bit of his trademark style that he's become known for over his 25 year career - great songs, raw, tasteful guitar work and seamless vocals, all delivered with a super-cool R'n'B vibe.

"For the "Let It Fly" album I gravitated from the onset towards the '67 Fender Deluxe Telecaster that I've had since '91, it seemed to want to do most of the work on the majority of the tracks and it allowed me to develop a solid foundation to work from.
(I still marvel at the design of this guitar..."how can something so simple be so good?!")

When I needed something with a Bigsby the Gretsch Falcon was there to add colour - these guitars have so much harmonic content I find you don't need too many guitar parts for the track to sound huge.

The Fender Custom Shop Burgundy Mist Stratocaster, a recent acquisition, helped me with with signature sounds. One of my favourite sounds an electric guitar can make is the sound from the neck pickup on a Strat, I was able to find a good home for this on the track "If You Let Me Give"
